Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated candidate with previous proven experience in farm management.
This role will include cashew farming care, planning of farm duties, staffing, and customer care. This full-time permanent position is 5 days a week, including weekends.
Full training will be given on the farm, but previous farm cashew farm experience is highly essential to the role.
Due to the nature of the position, the successful candidate will be energetic, hard-working, and have excellent customer service experience. You’ll be required to lead farm tours when we are open to the public
You must hold a Ghana driving license.
Responsibilities
Managing the complete growing chain, from initial input to finished outputs.
• Forward planning, ensuring that the crops are profitable and meets projected financial targets;
• Control all aspects of the growing and harvesting of the crops;
• Budgeting and maintaining accurate financial records;
• Organising sales and purchases, farm equipment, crops and agricultural products;
• Handling paperwork and keeping administrative records;
• Recruiting, training/instructing and supervising farm and temp workers;
• Making sure that farm processes progresses satisfactorily;
• Ensuring compliance with company policy’s, health and safety standards and customers regulations;
• Keeping up-to-date knowledge of pests and diseases;
• Help coordinate the maintenance/repair of farm property, equipment and machinery.
Requirements:
• A strong agricultural background;
• Experienced in Cashew farm management;
• Familiar with silage preservation techniques;
• Ruminant nutritional knowledge is preferred;
• Happy to travel extensively where required;
• It would be advantageous to have academic qualifications in Agriculture and in Farm Management;
• Initiative, Flexibility, Good communication, Analytical skills, IT skills, Technical knowledge of the environment, Marketing and commercial acumen.
